SUPERBOWL LIV / TWITTER

CASE STUDY

DATA VISUALIZATION EXPERIENCE

Data visualization is the act of taking data and placing it into a visual context easier for the user to understand and detect patterns, trends, and outliers.

OVERVIEW

In 2020, Twitter joined forces with the NFL Organization and Microsoft for an exciting collaboration aimed at showcasing Twitter's capabilities as a social data source. The focal point of this partnership was the creation of an Interactive Booth for the Super Bowl LIV Media Center Event. Twitter entrusted Sprinklr with the task of conceptualizing and designing this engaging and data-driven experience.

Sprinklr's mission was clear: leverage Twitter's data feed to craft a visually captivating 3x3 Social Experience Wall Display. This immersive installation was designed to spotlight key social statistics of NFL Players, including their posts, sentiment analysis, follower counts, and mentions. The challenge was to transform raw data into an interactive and informative exhibit that would resonate with event attendees.

Through meticulous planning, creative design thinking, and technical prowess, Sprinklr successfully brought this vision to life, delivering a dynamic showcase of Twitter's capabilities and the NFL Players' social impact. This case study dives into the strategies, design choices, and technological innovations that made this project a resounding success, highlighting the power of collaboration in creating memorable interactive experiences.

THE PROBLEM

The Super Bowl LIV Media Center Event presented a significant opportunity for Twitter to engage with a high-profile audience comprising TV hosts, celebrities, and the players themselves. Twitter sought a strategic solution to captivate the attention of these influential figures and amplify their social presence online.

THE GOAL

The primary objective of this design project was to captivate and engage booth visitors, encouraging active interaction with the presented experience. Our approach involved extensive experimentation with various design concepts and interactive elements. After rigorous brainstorming sessions, we determined that emulating the interface of a football video game, enabling users to select characters and view football statistics, would be the most effective way to achieve our goals.

THE LAYOUT

Twitter presented us with a rendering of the space layout. The main screen was a 3x3 display along the far wall with a living room setting around it.

USERS & AUDIENCE

The booth was open to everybody to come around and play with the interactive experience, but our goal was to attract the football players that would attend. We received the spreadsheet information of all 300+ players attending, and we used Sprinklr's AI to bring in as much information as we could from each player, including mentions, sentiment, positive branded posts, and popularity by region.
